Los Angeles Sheriff's investigators report that they've positively identified all but 19 of the numerous unknown women still tied to convicted murderer Bill Bradford. In the months since the case was reopened, America's Most Wanted has helped cops in their search to identify the mysterious beauties that Bradford had once taken pictures of. Police say that AMW viewers' tips have helped ID a number of the women on the poster.
One of the women, Nika La Rue (#3 and far left in #54) was identified by her older sister, Eva LaRue, an actress on CSI Miami. That's where the coincidences begin...Eva plays a DNA expert on the episode that retells the Bradford saga while her sister Nika has a small part as a reporter.
However, the CSI Miami connection to Bradford goes even deeper than the LaRue sisters. The show's executive story editor, John Haynes, who wrote the Bradford episode, is a former homicide detective with the LA County Sheriff's office. One of his former colleagues there, Bobby Taylor, now a sergeant on the cold case squad, reopened the Bradford case.
On July 25, 2006, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reopened a bombshell of a case. Deputies are asking for the public's assistance in identifying women from more than 50 photos in a serial killer's collection.
Bill Bradford spent much of the 1970s and 80s luring attractive young women by posing as a model photographer and showing up at model car shows and bars in Southern California, Illinois, Texas and Florida. Once he had a woman in his trap, his aim was to take sexually explicit photos. Though some women's lives were spared, Bradford killed and dismembered many of them.
Currently on death row for two murders, Bradford challenged jurors at his trial, "Think of how many you don't even know about." Deputies are now answering his challenge:
If you think you know any of these women please contact AMW, and refer to the photo number.Page 1 |
