On April 2, 2007, authorities say officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Front St. in Steelton, Pa. after a report of gunshots, only to find the street empty.

As the officers canvassed the neighborhood, residents told cops on the scene that they had heard eight to ten gunshots coming from the direction of a nearby steel mill.

Police expanded their search and found two men screaming at each other.

Police say the younger of the two -- later identified as Micky Mayon -- admitted to police that he had been standing on his roof, firing a shotgun.

Mayon explained to the officers he had been drinking at a local watering hole when he became upset with some black men who, Mayon claimed, were flirting with white women in the bar.

Mayon told police he returned home, and out of frustration -- and intoxication -- he decided to shoot off some rounds. Mayon claimed he was shooting in the direction of the Susquehanna River, but cops say Mayon was aiming his shotgun toward the back of the bar.

Mayon was taken into custody and booked on charges of possessing a firearm -- a crime, since Mayon is a convicted felon -- as well as reckless endangerment and public drunkenness.

Cops say Mayon found himself immersed in a culture of drugs, and was shuttling in and out of the judicial system.

Police say Micky Mayon is no stranger to law enforcement. Cops say he was known in the surrounding areas for street preaching with his father.

His first brush with the law came in 1995 as a 19-year-old thug, charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possessing drug paraphernalia and retail theft. Mayon was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in a State Correctional facility on the possession with intent to sell charge, and 6 to 12 months on the charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Cops say after an arrest in 2005 for public drunkenness, he was booked in 2007 on several charges including charges for possession of a firearm -- a crime for a convicted felon.

As Mayon faced those charges in a Steelton, Pa., a judge decided that the case against him would proceed to trial. Mayon was outraged by the judge's decision, and cops believe that's when Mayon decided to take action against the jurist he believed was unfairly persecuting him.

Investigators believe that, at 3:22 a.m. on June 30, 2007, Mayon slipped into the magisterial judge's quiet, tree-lined neighborhood and, using an accelerant, set the judge's car on fire.

Investigators immediately launched an investigation and reviewed all of the judge's past cases to determine whether the attack was related to his work.

Cops soon turned their attention to Mayon, whose case had been on the judge's docket.

But police say before his reckless endangerment, public drunkenness and discharge of a firearm charges could be adjudicated, detectives learned that Mayon had fled the city.

Not long after, investigators learned that Mayon had not only left the city, but had fled the country.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and confirmed that, on Nov. 1, 2007, Mayon, boarded a Continental Airlines flight headed to Tel Aviv, Israel.

According to detectives, Mayon purchased a round-trip ticket. But on his scheduled return, police say Mayon was listed as a "No Show" in flight records.

On March 19, 2008, authorities issued a warrant for Mayon's arrest.

The bright-eyed, half-smile of a young Micky Mayon as reflected in his 1996 driver's license picture would, over time, slowly fade.

His driver's license photo from 2000 shows an innocent looking 24-year-old, slowly making his way into manhood, still hanging on to his youth with slicked-back hair and glasses. But by 2004, the bloom was off the rose, and only blank eyes stare back at the camera, revealing a man in transition from innocence to disillusionment.

Cops say Mayon was shuttling in and out of the judicial system.

Under his family's influence, he devoted more time to the family business: street preaching. Cops say the family spent their days on street corners preaching a faith of hellfire and brimstone, the eternal damnation of those the Mayon family deemed to be miscreants.

Mayon is described as a white male, 5'11" tall, weighing 210 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Mayon usually keeps his hair shaved close to his head, and normally wears a mustache.

AMW Capture #1078

Tip Produces AMW's 120th International Capture

Israeli law enforcement officials have arrested fugitive Micky Mayon in Tel Aviv as a direct result of a tip to the AMW.com. After Mayon's apprehension, 120 fugitives have been captured overseas, in 22 countries, as a result of America's Most Wanted.

After Mayon's story appeared on our website, the tips coming in pointed to Mayon, who was living in Israel.

Once the U.S. Marshals Task Force working Mayon's case got the information, they alerted Interpol, who on July 10, 2009 put out a red notice for Mayon. The notice alerted each of Interpol's 184 member nations about the fugitive and his status as a wanted man.

That meant the information was sent to the U.S. Department of State, who made sure that Israeli officials knew the contents of our tip -- which included the precise address where the tipster thought Mayon was hanging his hat at night.

On July 13, members of Israel's OZ task force, a police unit responsible for immigration violations, raided the address from our tip. The shocked Mayon was immediately taken into custody.

"Without the AMW web story on Mayon, he'd probably still be out there," says U.S. Marshals Task Force member John Fry.
