New details are emerging in the manhunt for Jose Fernando Corona -- a Texas man accused of decapitating and dismembering his wife with a chainsaw while she was still alive. Cops say Corona test drove a car and never returned it. That truck was caught by cameras at a checkpoint just north of Laredo, Texas, but months later, there are no signs of Corona or the truck.

Police say they located the 2005 gold Toyota Sequoia with Texas license plate 247-DVH that Corona initially fled in. They say it was found abandoned in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Bedford, Texas on April 28, 2010.

Officials say the license plate of the Ford Ranger confirms that Corona did pass through a checkpoint just north of Laredo, Texas. The vehicle has yet to be located and it is believed that Corona may have walked across the border.
Police say Jose and Maria Corona had been having marital issues before Jose snapped and allegedly decapitated and dismembered his wife's body. Maria was the mother of six children ranging from the ages of 7 to 20.

Officials reported that the 1991 Ford Ranger with Corona driving was caught by a Border Patrol checkpoint camera on Interstate 35 just 20 miles north of Laredo at 9:30 p.m. CST on the day of the murder.
Maria Corona left behind six children and two grandchildren. In this picture she is with her two oldest daughters Bibiana and Carla.
Maria's children say Maria loved cooking for them and was a hard working and caring mother.
